 RHD WHY are they illegal again?, Details? |

I hear left and right that RHD drives cars are illegal in the USA. Now my questions is, are they illegal b/c THEY ARE RHD or b/c of the other little things? Like 1. NO EGR? 2. The DOT stuff (sorry dont remember anything about that)? Or both, which is it? From what i hear there are people here and there that have RHD cars here in the US even HERE in L.A. Ive seen a R32 around here and i think a R33. But I'm not sure if they have been registered. If registering them were such a big deal are then how are they on the streets? How do i get me a RHD car and get it registered? I'll make most of the changes that are needed like the DOT approved stuff if thats all it takes to register it.

I think RHD is illegal in some states unless it for a handicapped person or something.

The reason is because we drive on the right side of the road, so when you go to pass a car you have to look on the left side of the car in front of you to make sure it's clear, and since you're on the right side of the car in a RHD car, it's very dangerous. Dangerous !#%^^&* i drive a RHD in Moscow 'Russia' and here there LHD but it seems to make no odd's to them, or me !!!!! the only reason is the smog laws you guy's have over in the states.... and as for left or right .... well all i can say is 'in the states you may drive on the right side of the road, but in the UK we drive on the correct side of the road

Also, if you are trying to make a left turn on green with oncoming traffic and there is a car infront of you, it will be hard to see if there are any cars coming. There are LHD GT4s from like germany though. |
