Hey guys,
sorry another dumb random question. I spend most of the year in Buffalo, NY and then my summers in New Jersey. Do you think it would be unsafe to install a CAI on my 96 GT? I have been getting mixed reviews.....any advice would help. Also is the preformance aspect of doing a CAI even that much better to risk hydrolocking the engine compared to a short ram? ![]() thanks |

cool i got to go to work right now but as soon as i get time ill try and find it for you. all you reall y need is a hack saw lol.
I was planing on getting a bypass as well but decide to wait. I drove in the last rain we had down here in LA (probably not n e thing big in comparision) and had no trouble. Also keep in mind that a little water wont hurt. Ppl spray water to clean all the time (i forget what its called lol). The issue of hydro lock comes into the pic when the almost all of the filter element is sumbermged in water. This means (for me) a puddle has to bee deep eounght to cover alt least half of the front wheel. but like stated a 45 aem bypass valve will save you if you do some how run into a puddle that deep. which is why soon ill put one on. Even if here in LA it doesnt rain to hard. actaully now that i think about itt (stressed for time) all you need is a cai systeme for a 91-93 (i think thats the year) accord (yes and accord lol) All that is needed is to cut a small part of the end off so that way it changes the vector/angle of the piping. Ill c if i can find the stuff on line (i got mine form pro car parts off of ebay) This post has been edited by urbandork: Dec 17, 2004 - 1:39 PM |
