i was trying to answer a topic in General Disc about the JDM GT4 and was looking for that old post labeled, "So you want a JDM GT4?" Of course the search turned up nothing because 'want' is the only word over or at 4 letters long.

Is there a way that the search can pick up words that are 3 letters? considering that most of acronyms that we use are all 3 letters such as MAP, GT4, JDM, AWD, etc...

Your thread (the first one linked) is pretty old, Coomer's upgraded the site since then and had a chance to way in (the thread I linked is early November this year) the second thread you linked is just as recent as the same one I posted, and basically says the same thing; Coom would have to rebuild the entire database and even then it still might not work.

While I was semantically off in describing it as impossible; it's still not an easy fix. Coom even states that simply changing the 3 letter minimum to three won't change anything- this is what I meant by hardwired
