Hypothetically, if I or someone like me were to race, from a standstill, in an auto ST, would our best bet be to: a) Leave the car in drive with overdrive off and just mash on the gas b) Start in L, shift up to 2 when nearing redline, then shift up to drive when nearing redline in 2 c) Either of the above with some other techniques added in. Hypothetically, of course

Left foot press brake, put into D, while holding brake, right foot press gas and hold rpm at about 3500 - 4000.
Best for quick star... Wanna break your gear box? Same thing, only press gas till 6500 rpm  and hold brake for some time...
