Hey im new I'm Cragspiders little brother and i will be aqquiring the celica soon and it needs a new engine, so im in need of a swap. my dad and i have been talkign bout just doing the gt engine if it is a straight swat or a 4age or if i could find a new gts engine but not sure plans for the car are to turn it into a autocross racer on the weekends so engine would be built for that so needing help here.

I personally wouldn't turbo the motor. I'd love to switch to a Megasquirt setup and run open throttle bodies if I were keeping the car. But like Kwanza said, they make a lot of power with low amounts of boost. Like any car, tuning is very important, but it's even more important on a 4A-GE running 10.5:1 compression.
vangSTa_celica, I actually didn't do a lot of the wiring myself. I did a fair amount myself though, and my experience was that it was very difficult. It was my first time, so I have nothing to compare it to, but my mechanic said it was the hardest wiring job he's ever worked on. Don't know how true that is though...probably an attempt at an excuse for his incompetance. -------------------- New Toyota project coming soon...
