Does anyone have their heat shield painted? ive painted mine with that paint for 1600* and it still burnt off. Did i do something wrong?

After prepping it and cleaning it, I use the non-flammable BrakeKleen for a final wipedown, (you can use laquer thinner or alcohol, but only outdoors and let it ALL evaporate before getting any flame near it) I then heat it lightly with a propane torch (parts off the car of course) just enough to boil out any oil film left in the metal, you can usually see the oil evaporating as you move the torch slowly, then paint it b4 it cools off too much. this makes the paint stick much better.
