OK, you should have 215/35/18 sized tires if you want your speedometer to reflect the actual speed that you're going. With this size tire, you should not rub either, assuming you have the correct offset. However, your ride will be worse and you'll have more chances of rim damage than you would with a 40-series tire.
But with the 40-series tire, you might rub...Natalie has 225/40/18-sized tires and she rubs due to her offset. When I had 225/40/18-sized tires on my 18s on my car, I didn't rub, I'm assuming because my offset was different. Also, your speedometer will be off with a 40-series tire. When it says you're going 60 mph, you'll actually be going 63 mph with a 225/40/18 tire. -------------------- New Toyota project coming soon...
