I've been working out lately trying to lose weight. I've lost 15lbs and kept it off for over a month now. But I want to get back into my basketball routine to speed up the process of fat burning and allow the muscle mass i'm putting on to show better. And after 15 mins i'm totally winded and really can't do anything as well as when I was playing basketball when I was in school. My 7th grade self would kill me right now. I probably could get another 8" higher than I'm doing right now, in junior high I almost dunked it jumping from the free-throw line. I was 6'3" in jr. high, i'm 6'4" now but i was in shape and weighed 30lbs less than I do now. But i'm on the track again and hopefully i'll get myself in better shape. I am stronger now then I was then but my stamina sucks totally. I'll be running strong again in a month if I keep this up everyday. Alright gotta go back out and get my self tired again. LAter

weight lifting can make you get stamina, muscle and toning all in one. I wish i didnt stop lifting after going into college or else i would have been at that stage where you can go out and do any activity without getting winded. I might try to get back at the lifting once my break is up but warning to those who rarly Run/Jog then try it again. i went running about a week ago with new running shoes and after the second day i was developing shin splints so now i cant run at all for a least three weeks (these workouts were only 15 minutes long as well.) Proper shock absorbing shoes is a must and try not to run on roads cause they are to hard for your lower legs. The best place to start running is either in water or on a dirt trail somthing that is soft on the legs but allows you push yourself without worrying about getting shin splints. Remember this or you could end up like me not running at all.
