I was talking about cars to the fed ex driver and he was like oh you like cars that have big loud mufflers and i was like eww no thats rice and hes like "u should watch what u say in an office thats pretty racist" and i was like haha thats not racist. it made me laugh.

I dont consider either of them to be racist, but if that guy thought the term 'rice' was racist, he probably thought it was somehow asian related. The same goes with the term 'ghetto' as it can be seen to refer to certian races that make up the majority of the ghetto areas of certian cities. Or it can be seen as a degroatory term towards poor people in general.
Some people can be overly sensitive. Like once i dated this girl who asked me not to use the word 'crazy' as in "thats crazy!" because she thought it was offensive to those with mental disabilities. -------------------- Its Orville's Celica, i just drive it... |
