Does anyone have their heat shield painted? ive painted mine with that paint for 1600* and it still burnt off. Did i do something wrong?

possibly boiling the oil film out from under the paint, see my prev post above.
Talked to a local powder-coat guy, he says he now has high-heat powders that will stand up to exhaust heat, I dont believe it would on an exhaust manifold or header on a lean-burning computer controlled engine, need to send them to JET-HOT for ceramic coating, but it should work great on heat shields and valve covers etc. This post has been edited by 97GTinKC: Jan 10, 2005 - 2:19 PM |
