today after getting off work i had to let my car warm up because it was about -8 degrees outside... let it warm for about 10, and then proceded to drive home... Whenever its this cold out (below zero) my car feels MUCH stronger than normal... does anybody else think so? I figure it has somthing to do with cold air being utilized mabey? Anyways once the car gets rolling the thermostat temp never climbs above the bottom beginning line just above the C, THATS how cold it is... So is this just me or what

QUOTE(macavely @ Jan 14, 2005 - 5:01 AM) Yea i feel my engine has more power when its cold out... the engine bay also stays a lot cooler... so i know cooler air does get sucked in to the motor... so.. yea there should be more power being produced... but thats just and guess... no real hard facts or numbers to prove it.. This has been known and proven longer than any of us have been alive. Cold air is much denser therefor you get more into the engine which = more power. ITs only common sense. Turbo cars respond extremely well in cold weather. -------------------- ![]() |
