It is no secret that 5/10 people you talk to have utter disregard for celicas. Now the interesting thing is that once they actually look at your 6th gen car their perception switches on a dime and you can see a drop of jealousy in their eyes. No other generation attracts so much attention as 94-99 and that makes me feel appreciate my car even more. When I tell people that I drive a celica they think they are about to see some ugly plain weird car but they are wrong. As they see their reflection on the side of my car and as they try to glance inside the uber tinted windows they start wondering what's lurking inside? They also comment on my rims (will post pic this week.. just waiting to get my camera back) before they see the car. They say eww white rims... and 18's are not going to fit your car and or it will look ridiculous. Well out of spite I have to show them they are wrong. A single glance at my car and my rims stand out like a green hat in a orange field. They are white... and they look hot. The smooth and sexy contour of my car may fool one into thinking that celica is a girlie car but as soon as they hear a combination of my CAI and Exhaust.. well I grin and in my eyes you can see: I told you so.

Well the moral of the story is that with a little creativity our cars become better than anything on the street. Take the following as an example. I pull up to the parking lot and some chump is showing off his civic... as soon as I pull up people just flock my way.. sigh it makes me feel so damn proud.

I own one of 4 celicas in the town. I've stopped and talked to the others. One a lady who fell in love with the car during highschool. She has a 94. A guy that has a 99, and the other with a 99 convert. Ironic to say. I talked to the 99 hatch guy. He owned a 95, 97 and finally the 99. He said he just cant get enough of them and wont buy a 7th gen. The 99 convert guy is pretty cool too. Wanted a vert and found the celica vert the prettiest of all. All in all, everyone loves the Celica. Since I've owned many sports cars (being a big DSMer) in my small town, most people know my name. And now, everyone knows the word Celica. I have people who get worried when I dont drive it because they think its sold. Funny how I never got that when I sold my GSX.
