I saw this over at mr2oc.com and thought I would post it here for the 3s guys. A company called The Speed Factor, in conjunction with Garrett is about to release a T3/T4 turbo upgrade which is a bolt on application! Thats right - the turbo will bolt onto the stock exhaust manifold and cat (or standard downpipe) and be a direct replacement for the CT26. Think of it as T3/T4 internals in a ct20b housing. Since it hasn't been released yet, there are no dynos but things look promising IMO. If it lives up to the hype, it would be a very nice option. Here is a link to the thread:
Turbo Upgrade -------------------- QUOTE(lagos @ Jul 10, 2006 - 1:55 PM) i know your trying to do the right thing for your motor, but this is one of those times where you should just trust the guys who have had their swaps for a while and have done a ton of research into this. |

QUOTE(jgreening @ Feb 7, 2005 - 3:41 PM) I will tell you that I have done a ton of research on upgrading to a new turbo and fuel system. Of course the best alternative is new turbo and fuel system with standalone ECU. That said, budget is always an issue. If you couldn't do both at once, I strongly believe that the best route is to forgo the larger injectors and SAFC or Greddy emanage and just buy the turbo and keep the boost down for the time being. Then, when you have enough money for the injectors, rail, EMS and tune, do it later. You end up saving money in the long run and save yourself from running a crappy set-up that could very well blow your engine in the meantime. That said, I am getting the turbo and fuel upgrades at once since you still might accidently go lean with just a larger turbo and then.....BOOM. I will NEVER own a fuel controller that doesn't effectively control timing for the 3s after reading all the horror stories. Yeah basically thats what I just did. Instead of the 540s and such I'm going to invest in a fuel pressure gauge and AFPR. -------------------- |
