the Clarion DX945MP has been stated on of the best cd players out..while many others have also this is the only one i was interested in at the time because i was thinking of purchasing one, so i do not remember the list i had read. Alpine, Eclipse and Premier's were on their ofcourse but i am not sure which models. Nakamichi has gone down hill i think. Eclipse is a great choice. and ofcourse their is Alpine. if i really had to choose id have to choose between Eclipse and Alpine... while the others are great brands also. id probably go with an Eclipse deck for a change from my Alpine.

these four i would choose from, not in any order but the Premier would be my last choice because i have played with them all. they are great cd players but i like Eclipse and Alpine better. you would be happy with either 4 choices. also Kenwood Excelons are OK i think, while they are respectable im just not into Kenwood products. and yes please steer clear of Sony. JVC has some great CD players the Arsenals and the one that has that little screen on the right are good cd players. i hope i have helped you. if not then i am sorry, but these are my choices. LaTeR
