I've never got tested in Cali, but I find it hard to believe that they'll take the time to remove heat shields and parts to inspect every car and trucks header certification.

I'm sure someone will post some experiences they've had...sooner or later.

Umm... it's not exactly hard to tell if the engine is running an aftermarket header or not. If you think a heat shield can cover it up... well... haha... As far as experience goes... considering I work at a shop that does smog checks... I'd say it doesn't get more detailed than that... wink.gif

Well sure its quite obvious that someone is riding an aftermarket header, but aren't some aftermarkets still CARB certified? So you'd still need to look for the certification.

I don't know where this certification is normally posted (which is why I'm asking). Are they all located in a clear line of sight?

Thanks Kwanza

It's labeled right on the header... usually along with the manufacture's stamp. Some companies, such as TRD, will require you to send in proof of purchase and then they'll send you a little card or something with CARB numbers on it.
