ok..ok, i know this may be a spazz question, but i am not a car buff..bikes yes, cars no...on alot of the GT4's i have seen the turbo intercooler has heat resistent tape underneath it, covering the whole of the bottom....why is this? is it something that i need to look at doing?
can someone enlighten me in why this is done? |

its actually pretty common,..guys do it to help sheild the intercooler from engine heat...any little bit helps

The charge cooler sits on the engine block, so if you can insulate that a little more it's a good thing. Personally, I think ripping the lagging off the underside of the bonnet might well do more good. -------------------- JDM ST205
