I was just wondering will these fit my 96 st coupe.

it depends if it is designed right

the goal is to IMPROVE braking
when a normal rotor is heated during braking
it creates gasses that prevent the brake bad from addiqitly contacting the rotor
kinda like if you take the same polarity magnets and try to push them together they push against there is a lil buffer zone thats what the gases do
if you have slots or vents then the gases are released and exit the rotor better decreasing brake temp and INCREASing brake performance
the lower temp helps prevent "glazing" too hot for the pad melts rotors get to hot melt kinda not sure which one probably the pad and this high brake temp and increase in brake gases prevent you from stopping(trust me its not fun i've done it you can't stop at all)

so hence the reason for performance rotors

but to BENEFIT from them it has to be under high speed/heavy braking
to get a benefit not just every day driving

Slots aren't for that purpose, slots slice off a thin layer of the break material
