![]() It was making this horrible knocking sound under the hood so I had to have it towed. luckily i have road side assistance and i got the first 10 miles towed free. I was 9.7 miles away from my house too! :-) So now im out of my car for about a week so my dad can work on it. -------------------- Cruisin down the street in my Infiniti...always lookin for my next trip to Sin City

You just neeed a new timing belt, tensioner, and waterpump right? Thats why these things are supposed to be changed every 60k miles. Be glad you dont have a interference motor. Then you would be looking at thousands of dollars

Then you would be looking at thousands of dollars ![]() I have 165,000 miles - ORIGINAL Timing belt, Water Pump, and most prob tensioner on my Ford Festiva... I just changed the fan belt at 160K miles for the first time... My 95 Celica GT has original Water pump +tensioner at 113K.. (timing belt changed at 52K by previous owner) I dont buy that 60K rule theory...As you can see 165K and still going strong...Ill wait till things break...the fix it...and i drive both cars hard and fast.. Everything I bought from toyota costs an arm and a leg---I always buy aftermarket or junkyard first... good luck! |
