 Plan to pass CA emissions with 3sgte, Retarded or not? |

Hi, I'm planning to buy a celica with a swapped 3s-gte motor in it. I currently own a completely stock 94 celica gt. When it is time to smog the swap car can I take in the stock celica and try to pass it off for the swapped one or will they actually take a look at my VIN number etc. Wishful thinking?

i doubt the visual inspectioin gets done. these guys do like 10 cars a day, all they care about is if it passes the tail pipe sniffer and if you have a cat.

Unless the car is OBD2... there's really no way to do a smog without opening up the hood.
