Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen.
I post to ask for your help in deciphering a mystery on my 6th gen celica. Two weeks ago, I had a Centerforce Dual-Friction clutch installed onto my vehicle. I have driven approximately 150 miles on this new clutch and I've noticed an odd noise coming from the clutch. When the vehicle is in neutral (engine idle, stick in neutral, clutch out) there is a whining/scratching noise coming from the clutch. When I depress the clutch (engine idle, stick still in neutral, clutch in) the noise promptly stops. When I release the clutch (engine idle, stick neutral, clutch out) the noise whines up (as if it is spooling up with the clutch) and remains steady. Anybody have any similar experiences with new clutches? Specs: 1996 Celica GT 2.2L Engine 81k miles Centerforce Dual-Friction clutch |

when you install the bearing there are a few places where you have to apply grease to it and the fork.
if you are lazy, you can turn the clutch pedal height adjuster untill the sound goes away. -------------------- 15PSI - 30MPG - Megasquirt Tuned
