Advice, my dad Options

hey guy as you know iam 16 years old and my biggest dream was to trick out a car it never mattered what it was and i happend to get a badA$$ car like a celica my dad only paid 3200 but i play baseball so i dont have a job to get money but i work over the summer and my plans were to do a lot of stuff to my car when i start working. But my dad prettty much shot me down hes like why would spend all this money into your car when dont know if you plan on keeping it and he says i have no concept of money i dont know i guess i see all you guys with all these nice mods but i forget that most of you are 20+ going to college or working so i need some advice do you think i should keep my dream or just leave my celica the way it is...i already got a bodykit

My dad got onto me about trying to fix up my car because it was a 4banger. And I'd never put any money into stuff to make it look better, and my dads a show car guy so he really hates the way I only want sleepers.
The thing is, why save all your money for stuff? So you can buy what you want. And if stuff for your car is what you want, then go for it. I'm in college now and I don't have ANY money to put into the celica. Good thing too, I hate this car. But, my first car I got when I was 15, I dumped about $3000 into it easily. That was a wonderful car.
Do what makes you happy.
