 TVIS on a 3s-gte?, what is it? |

just curious on a 3s-gte, on the intake side it has a TVIS. Was wanting to know what the name stands for and what does it do?

TVIS - "Tee Vees", Toyota Variable Induction System...a 4A-GE intake system where secondary intake ports to each cylinder are opened and closed for improved engine characteristics. that's the same for the 3sgte. it's a valve timing thing, half stay closed until higher RPMs. -------------------- 1994 Lexus ES300
