I just bought the Canon SD300 digital camera and I have to give this thing a great review. The picture quality is amazing and the size and speed are awsome. I also bought a 1/2 gb high speed SD card which is incredible. I will be posting some pics in the near future.

i know your trying to do the right thing for your motor, but this is one of those times where you should just trust the guys who have had their swaps for a while and have done a ton of research into this.

Can you control aperture, shutter speed, ISO, manual focus, and all that good stuff manually with it?

I have a Nikon N80 if I want to get artsy. This camera is tiny and more geared to someone who wants great pictures with little hassels. As for your questions, there is a "shutter speed" setting which uses values for "shooting in the dark". I dont think its a real shutter speed control in terms of traditional cameras though because there is no aperature setting. I think its just a digital setting that tells the camera how dark of a situation you are shooting in. Similarly, there are settings for "white balance", photo effect and ISO. I doubt I will get into all that much because I bought this camera as an everyday unit.

One feature that I really like is the continuous shooting. It will take about 3 pictures a second so if you are shooting an event that you want to capture a particular point in time (like a kid swinging a bat at a ball) its real easy. You just hold the button down while the event is happening. Then, you just delete all the pictures except the one where the bat makes contact with the ball.

the only complaint for my s50 is that the lcd screen is too small.

The screen on this camera almost takes up the whole back of the camera. Its a full 2 inches. This camera replaces the S410 which had a 1.5" screen.
