Ok, as Some of you know, I did the custom lancer/evo short shifter. When i did it was a lill stiff and hard to shift in gears... worked great but hard. I finally took a look and fixed it. So Its PERFECT! What I had to do was cut two plastic peaces of the assembly for thw shifter linkage on the right to sit down a little lower so it wont bend. It took me like 3 hours today to figure it out and fix it.. but its perfect and well well worth it.

Just thought i would update ya'll that were intrested but skeptical about doing it.

Ok I finally got around to putting mine in( 7th gen celica short shifter off ebay) I didn't have to do any modifications at all to the shifter. Everything fit fine even the spacers that came with the kit. Total with shipping from ebay was $45 if I remember right.

Dindoug is right you do have to cut a piece of plastic out or it will be really stiff. But its easy to do I just took a hacksaw blade and cut it. It took me 5 mins to cut it out.

Total install time was about an hour and a half. The tuffest part is getting the big pin out with the washer that holds it in. I took a screw driver pried the washer out and just slid the pin out. The other pin that holds the shifter in you just punch out with a punch.

With the 7th gen shifter I didn't have to dremel anything. And I used the original bolts. I did take out the rubber grommets that the bolts slide through, because the spacers that come with the kit replace those. The throw is definatly shorter, and it is crisper. I only took it for a 15 minute test run.
