So I went to open my hatch the other night and the key wouldn't turn clockwise like usual. So I tried counter-clockwise. Then the key slit was horizontal instead of lateral. And it stayed horizontal and still wouldn't open. So I went to use the interior hatch level. It just felt like it had already been released. So I'm thinking I snapped the cable. Any thoughts?

When you turn it counter clockwise, it locks the hatch so that only the key can open it, and you cannot open it from the inside. Turn it clockwise again and try jiggling the key to get it to open. If it still doesnt, bring it back to vertical again and open it from the inside.
