Ok so mines all hooked up to my 7AFE and its just needing to be tuned for boost soon. Now the question is.......how do i tune it, i read the damn instructions but it made no sense and the pics went all around and crazy and confused the hell outta me, so could someone sum it up on how to tune my fuel mixture by RPM..... so far all i have done is set all the sensors up so they read right and it runs fine. And as soon as i tried to change something with the ratios it made my car stall out right after i started the car......can someone clear this up?

I plan on hooking my Walbro Fuel Pump up tomorrow and thats why im asking, just want to make sure im not running too rich afterward. I dont think it will until i run larger injectors but hell I wanna play it safe.

you really need to be on a dyno with a wideband o2 sensor in to tune it. or at least on the street with a wideband. that way you can see how much fuel your removing or adding. be carefull with removing fuel with the SAFC, when you remove fuel, you add timing.

removing fuel - more power, more chance of knock/detonation

adding timing - more power, more chance of knock/detonation

doing both at the same time with out a WBO2 and Knock sensor setup = bad things to your engine

buy a WBO2 setup with dataloging. when u get the turbo on, make a pull from 2000rpm to redline in either 3rd or 4th(you must not ahve any wheelspin) and see what the AFR is.

right before spool up, shoot for a 13.5:1 AFR, then bring it down to 12:1 at spool up/full boost, then taper down to mid/low 11's:1 towards redline.

that is if u have some thing to adjust timing, if not, you will have to run the car richer. higher AFR = leaner. lower AFR = richer.

now, to lean out/richen fuel with the SAFC, you go to the RPM point you want to change and enter a low value, like +/-2%(+ is more fuel, minus is less). do this for all RPM values that need to be altered. then make another pull and see what the AFR is like.

then repeat the whole process

its fun and a pain in the ass to road tune. when i road tune my WRX, i need a lot of room. but the i love knowing that i am chaning the way the engine runs

i dyno tuned the car last saturday. while more expensive, it was safer, and way cooler(i actually did the tuning while it was on the dyno)
