Can someone explain to me what a Twincam, Dual overhead cam, single cam, ect. What is this "cam" and how does it affect the engine?

someone else will give you more info.......
but the cam 's are the bars at the top of the engine (under the top cover) with lugs on.... these lugs push the valves open to let fuel in and waste gas out ! single = 8 valves (one in. one out per cylinder) double = 16 valves (two in. two out per cylinder) this is a really simple way to understand it but the princable is right they make the engine work, so quite important This post has been edited by popstar: Mar 21, 2005 - 3:13 AM -------------------- ![]() Life is for living, and you don't get a second chance Take care now !! |
