I'm planning on doing some new stuff with my security system in the near future, and I was curious about how exactly a siren chirps on lock and unlock.
Does the alarm brain just send two quick +12 volt pulses to the siren output on unlock? Or are they a different voltage, or what? I'd go out and test the siren on my car with a multimeter, but my siren is incredibly hard to access(and so is my alarm brain.) So I'm hoping someone can help me out. My *guess* would be that its a certain voltage which is sent the number of times the brain wants it to chirp. That would be my 2 cents.
I could maybe try to find a multimeter and test this, I dont know if I have one I'd have to find out. My alarms currently out because I lost the remote and didnt even know what alarm I had (was in there when I bought it.) Its an old Viper 300ESP with window roll up and proximity sensor expansion packs. -------------------- |
