I might go down to seattle and just walk around and see whats up as I am against this war. Wont see me holding any signs but might as well go down there and support the fact we shouldnt be there but more importantly support the troops and make it known they need to come home.

Anyone ever gone to a protest?

realize that liberalism and basically the whole idealistic agenda fowarded by the democrats is sold in a nice neat little package of "progressivism"... the ideas are proposed as "new," "intellectually superior," and "anti-establishmental" even if to a young quasi-rebelous kid or "the more caring choice" if to an adult. these ideals, spread under the guise of common good, are used to manipulate ppl into becoming commodities of those who spread them. generally the ppl who you see going around regurgitating i hate bush blah blah blah or whatever have no specific motive to do so other than to having something to say. conforming to the so called non conformist agenda is conforming all the same. it happens everday @ my college ppl will be b!tching about the war, politics, or whatever but when you ask them what they really know about the subject they have no clue.. many latch onto these party lines in order to purport themselves as the party has made them out to be...progressive

pali playa, you are aware that iraqi's have been asking for our help to rid saddam since bush senior arent you?

you are also aware they just had elections, with a higher voter turnout percentage than the US? Wow, people are threatoning to KILL them if they vote and they still had a higher % than the united states. looks like we surely take advantage of our freedom and they definitly WANT AND ARE ENJOYING THEIRS.

^^makes a great point ... a pointless war?? if any of you are willing take a trip.. pack your stuff move to an extremely oppressive country comprable to that which iraq was before the overthrow and hang out for a couple of months.. an election in iraq w/ women not only voting but running in the election.. had you any idea of how tremendous this accomplishment and the amount of burden that has been lifted off these ppl you would ashamed to disregard this as pointless

QUOTE
If they like us so much over there then why are they killing each other everyday? If someone conquered your country in a matter of days and told you you'd have a new government, wouldn't you participate, more out of fear than desire?

^^^not all the ppl fighting are iraqi friend.. my cousin just got back from there an interigator he said that alot of the ppl he interigated are saudi or from syria.. though i doubt the numbers are as high as the govnmt states ... also the ppl fighting have the motivation to keep on fighting whether for the sake of retaining power or the fact that when the fighting stops the iraqi ppl will turn on them if they stop *remember the hutus?? though it was genocide and not a complete parallel to this situation the act of killing your own brings societies fury.

imagine living in a place where rape murder mutilation torture is a daily occurance from those who have power.. but wait thats not what it is about is it? its about oil its about greed its about govnmt contracts its about power its about

More likely he cares about paying back the money that has been givin to him over his lifetime to fund his failures in business
ignorance....
consider some or all of these thing true if you like, but when you do also decide what is actually important. there is no greater love a brother can have for another than to lay his life down for him. and thats what it is about to me thats what it is about to the soldiers thats what its about to the people of iraq
