Simple and general question.......what is a limited slip diff, what does it do, and who has it??

i have it !
but as i have a '4' i'm not sure what help it will be to you.... as i under stand, it work by, if a wheel starts to spin on say snow, power is reduced to that wheel therefore allowing the wheels with grip to work it also help reduce excesive wheel spin and burning rubber on the street. but hey this is how i understand that it work, i'm sure the tec' guys on site will give you more and better info when they wake up
