so I was driving my car and went to get up on it so I punched the gas and my rpm's shot up to 4500 and stayed their until my speed caught up with the rpm's so I put it in a higher gear and the car should have had a problem picking up speed and the rpms should have stayed low but they shot back up to 4500 when I gave it gas not sure what the problem please help...with ideas

sounds like a clutch job, ehh well theres a few things that'll make ur car do that... like check ur gas filter and gas pump, but most likely ur looking at doing a clutch and flywheel job pretty soon. 400 dollars if u do it urself... 1000 ish if u get a professional do it.
-------------------- the 1/4 doesnt have patience for a ST.... so we make them ST-T's so atleast we'll sound good going slow.
