Well I took my celi into ELP last monday to hopefully debug the poor thing and get it up and running. Well I finally received an email friday telling me that my harness was not done very well and it has to be redone

QUOTE(jgreening @ Mar 25, 2005 - 2:18 AM) Good luck David. I look forward to following the progress. 3sgte Curren anyone? ![]() I know that would be nice. But that'll never happen. If no one has done it yet, then it will be a WHILE before anyone on the boards does. BTW you're the second person that has said that to me? What rumors are circling you guys' brains? QUOTE Why is everyone dogging on ELP? THEY ARE THE BEST for toyota bound problems. And yes their prices are a bit high, but not really because he estimates that it will take him a total of like 23 hours to work on a harness and that comes out to a minor $65 an hour, which in mechanics world is fairly cheap. I will also add that he charged me $1500 to rework my harness, did it fairly quickly, did a whole bunch of other crap for free, like timing, making a bracket for my fuel pump resistor, a bracket for another sensor, a bracket for my throttle cable to make it tighter, explained to me other problems like my AFM, damaged hoses, etc. so in my opinion $55 for mechanical work, and $65 for electrical work is very reasonable for a more than capable mechanic. I dont think theyre really dogging ELP. Everyone here knows about ELP's great work. So their concern is just the simple fact that i will have to spend so much money on the celica. Not everyone here can drop $1500 in one shot. And this reply isnt to dog you Chris I'm just trying to clear up the misunderstanding. Soon to be Boosted, David |
