Driving around 70MPH..all of a sudden I feel some weird vibrations..thought it was a tire...Hit the gas--idles! nothing behind it..
drop it down to 4th...fine..shift to 5th gear--all idles.. coasted home around 40MPH... shifts 1-4 fine..5th dead.. Replaced the clutch 2 years ago (about 30K) with a clutchmaster stage 1.. Now, how much u think this will cost me? Im bringing it to my mechanic 2nite..not sure if i should risk driving it there.. Celica GT 1995.. miles: 117,000 |

Mechanic said transmission is shot. He said it will cost alot more to repair the 5th gear, than to buy a used one. He said toyota made it very difficult to get to the areas to do repairs..
Well, I guess I will start looking for used trannys..$250 is what I feel like paying..car-parts.com has alot of used trannies.. I got a price of $350 used, 94 celica with 58K miles. 60 Day warranty.
