 How to tell if i have a blown strut?, wierd noise |

i was driving today and heard a new noise - it sounds like gas being let off a pintball gun like SSSSShhhhhh Shhhhhhhhhh SSSSSSHhhhhhhhhhhhhhh (best way i could desribe it) and it is coming from the passenger front it sounds like i figured it would be a strut of maybe a bearing/bushing of somesort you guys have any ideas? thanks
ohh and i have the car up in the air and on the passenger dirve axle there is a rubber thing that looks like an engine mount just sitting in the middle of the axle(obviously intentionally put there not just something wrapped around it) whats that for?? thanks This post has been edited by CelicaB: Apr 4, 2005 - 1:28 PM |

yeah I think 3 of my 4 struts are blown. Very bad handling, cupping of tire tread, and noise on a bump. Anyway, if its like this, time to get new ones
