I was looking to get an exhaust system. The only performance part in my car now is the CAI. Next, I want to get headers and an exhaust. A lot of exhausts are loud like Civics, but I found one that sounds very German/Borla/BMW/Porsche-like. It has that nice deep bass sound. That's what I like. I wouldn't want to get a fart can. Borla's are expensive. Remus makes good-looking/sounding exhausts. The thing is, it is just a muffler with the exhaust tip, not the whole exhaust system. I wanted to know if I put ceramic headers and change the muffler with the tip and put the Remus in there, would it still give me all that HP even though I'm still using the stock pipe that goes under the car from the headers to the muffler? (dumb question?)
Also, would I get more horsepower without the catalytic converter and just a pipe runnign straight throught the back? (DQ?) Would this make the car louder if there's no catalytic converter? If so, how much louder? -------------------- ![]() |

your always gonna get at least a slightly louder exhaust with out a cat. but your deffinenely not going to get much if any Hp gain if your keeping your stock exhaust piping and just throwin a muffler on it. check into some local shops and see if they can put together a larger pipe system, and see if they will use the muffler you want. although some shops are jerks about people bringing in there own parts. they always got to try and sell you something...
