Decideing against engine swapping a 3SGTE into my 96 Celica ST or just selling it and buying a 3,000$ 1st gen 6bolt Talon TSi AWD.
What would the best bang for the buck be? I just want to do 13's and I'll be happy. Also, on a scale of 1 - 10, how difficult is the engine swap from someone that doesnt know much about engines in general? I really dont know what to do for my next car. This 110 horsepower isnt cutting it anymore. |

150 across for a 1st gen is damn impressive considering how old they are.
As for the 6-bolt its similar as to the fact it will get crank-walk as much as any type of car would. The 7-bolt was internally built weaker, but still a very powerful engine. Also check for the turbo seals. That is pretty much the only problem on them, anmd they dont cost much to replace anyways. BTW how many miles are on the car? |

130,000. 80,000 on the rebuild, 80k on the new stock turbo..14b, all maintence has been done to it. Never drives it hard and its his daily driver. Asking 3,000. Im more then likely going to get it, cause as a added bonus, its only 30 miles away This post has been edited by StaticKnotX: Apr 12, 2005 - 5:42 PM |
