I love the look of the 6th Gen Celicas.... The problem is the performance. What kind of 1/4 mile can an Automatic 95 or so GT run? What speed does it top out at?
Hows the aftermarket for them? Without doing an engine swap, can you get much performance out of the stock engine? Is it possible to make a 14 second car out of an automatic 6th gen without an engine swap? Thanks. |

1/4 mile question: Auto, probably mid-high 16's Manual, low 16's Aftermarket Parts: This ain't a Civic... but its got a few goodies here and there. Stock Engine Performance: Can be built, depending on how much money you wanna spend. 14 second Celica GT AT: Heh...why must it be an auto? Shoot a 75 shot, get webcams, port and polish, CAI/H/E, Underdrive pulley, and you might hit 14's. Or go turbo...guranteed 14's...even with modest boost. I'm just guessing myself... but I've crazily modded one of my old 5 speed ST's and barely hit 14.9...shooting a 75 shot... If you're curious how a Celica GT AT drives, go drive a 93-96 Camry AT... =D This post has been edited by Kwanza: Apr 17, 2003 - 11:49 PM |
