I am going to be installing an AEM with wideband and need an extra space for a 52mm guage. I am somewhat fanatical about maintaining a clean look. My idea is to mount a simple 2 guage pod on the right side of my dash next to my existing cluster. Here is a picture of my existing dash:

The pod would be mounted on the side of the middle dash unit. Here is the pod I am thinking about. I plan to use a belt sander to angle the part that will contact the car a little bit so the guage angles just slightly toward the driver. It would be mounted sideways right next to the oil pressure guage:

Also, what other guage should I buy to fill the other hole? I am thinking either oil temperature, water temperature or air intake temperature.

i know your trying to do the right thing for your motor, but this is one of those times where you should just trust the guys who have had their swaps for a while and have done a ton of research into this.

my boost gauge is mechanical, and goes back to 0 when i turn the car off. im guessing that autometer electric gauges should work the same way, but im not sure.

i had issues with my oil gauge too, but managed to fix it. check you oil sender. that sender unit needs to be grounded well. if you used tephlon tape on the threads, then it may not be grounding right. also, check the electrical connections on the back of the gauge. they may be touching and shorting out causing false readings. then check and make sure that when u put the key in the on possition, the needle on the gauge moves up to 0.
