Heres the story,
My A/c compressor was always on. Turns out that the clutch is stuck in the engage position. So my buddy and I made our own switch to turn the compressor on and off by splicing into the compressor wire. Anyway, after testing it, everything worked fine; including the blower. After a few minutes of running I smelled something burning up in the front of the car around the relay box area. Of course the compressor is right there too. The a/c compressor was off and my the temp was on the heat. I tell my buddy to turn the car off. I turn it back on and I have no blower. I tear it all apart and everything works (heater relay, resisto, Blower itself, climate unit). We tested for voltage and the blower doesn't seem to be getting any power. We are both clueless. I am really lost here and I am looking for anyhelp whatsoever. I don't want to take it in again. SOMEONE HELP ME!!! ![]() |

SO its fixed. After my uncle gave me access to Alldata.com, and then staring a the wiring diagrams for like 4 hours after I spent and hour removing the p/s fender just to realize I didn't need to, I found the problem.
For those who really care, I'll explain: There is 1 blue wire that powers the blower. IT runs from the 40A fuse in the fuse box in the engine compartment through the engine bay to the right hand junction box. Well after testing everything else I thought why not test the wire. No power in that wire. Somewhere the blue wire isn't working, DOn't know where or why, but I just put a new wire in and it works perfectly. The 97 ST finally is not a piece o' crap anymore. Everything finally works. BTW Alldata.com is the best for car information, any car any year, it rocks |
