What performance mods will it take me in my 96 5spd celica st to beat my brother's 2004 40th aniversary 4spd automatic v6 mustang. He has 190 HP SAE @ 5,250 rpm; 220 ft lb , 298 Nm @ 2,750 rpm, and has a curv weight of 3,114 lbs. I know it'll take a good ammount from the tuning aspect, but is there ne way around the turbo? Or to be faster than him I'll need to get a T-3 or ct-26? Thanks guys

Each option is probably going to run you between $2-4 thousand based on the labor mostly. N/A would be the cheapest but you wont get 200 whp without nitrous on a stock (upgraded internals) 7A or a well built N/A motor with a lot of head work, a full head rebuild to your requirements is going to run about $1,500, that will also include port matching the throttle body, so that leaves you with intake manifold, exhaust, header, and intake. I think nitrous is your best bet, a rebuilt 7A with a forged bottom end, intake, full exhaust, and 75 shot of nitrous shouldn't have a problem pushing around 200whp or in that area, I have a knack for guessing drivetrain loss based on the set up and transmission and diff. used, but the Celica has this uncanny ability to make horsepower disappear. Oh yeah the nitrous set up is based on the parts, but you're still looking at around $2,000 w/o labor.
