What performance mods will it take me in my 96 5spd celica st to beat my brother's 2004 40th aniversary 4spd automatic v6 mustang. He has 190 HP SAE @ 5,250 rpm; 220 ft lb , 298 Nm @ 2,750 rpm, and has a curv weight of 3,114 lbs. I know it'll take a good ammount from the tuning aspect, but is there ne way around the turbo? Or to be faster than him I'll need to get a T-3 or ct-26? Thanks guys

Intake, header, exhaust, and I would upgrade the ignition system. I wouldn't worry about buying expensive plugs, i've run different plugs on the Chevelle and I know a 150 shot of nitrous fouls out all of them pretty quick, I would buy some Autolite plugs they work and if you foul them you lose a whole buck and some change. Of course this is on a carburated car with a dry system so tuning is a little more difficult, but once you tune right get good plugs. Also getting the combustin chamber completely cleaned and polished will help a lot, one of the biggest problems with nitrous is the molecules accumlate in carbon composites that exist in the chamber and after enough accumulation they cause detonation, it's also never recommended to run nitrous if you have pistons with valve pockets due to the same results. The best kit for the Celica on the market will run around a thousand and you'll get a 75 shot max from it, but you can tune it to work exactly like boost. Nitrous is the best source of power, I personally feel it's better because you can get kits to give you more power for less money than any other power adder, but if you don't know what you're doing just like any power adder it will bite you. Also before some one comes here stating the obvious, yes you have to refill.
