how much gains would i expect from a p&p if any1 did that to their 5sfe?...i was told that it would probably get 10-15hp....but after the fact, would i also need to adjust the valves seeing that engine work was done?

There is no true "stage" but it's how machine shops classify the amount of work. One shop could have 10 stages of head work, while another might have 4. Here is a shop that specializes in import head work and does Toyotas.
