Ok I've noticed that pretty much everyone here that has done the 3sgte swap or is in the process of doing this swap has a FMIC. I want to know is that the best way to go? or is it that the 3sgte top mount IC won't let the hood shut?

which 3sgte are you talking about? if you get a 2nd gen 3sgte, you have to have a hood scoop like the st185 hood for the top mount to work properly. it needs air. the water/air intercooler on a 3rd gen 3sgte does not need the gt4 hood. it uses water to cool the air. without the gt4 hood, it will heatsoak faster than with it, but it will still work fine. -------------------- 1994 Lexus ES300
