I'm pretty much new to driving stick (learned a week ago), but something seems wrong when I'm crusing on the freeway on 5th gear. Is it normal for me to be getting around 3,000-3,200 RPM going around 60-65 mph? It just seems a little high compared to my now-scrapped automatic eclipse which got around mid 2,000's at those speeds.

manual trannys are made to handle 3k RPM at 65 MPH just as auto trannys are programmed to go about 2,4k RPM at 60...
Your car will be fine...gas milage will be same if not better than auto...you will not burn out engine internals or tranny... Basically...keep the RPMs out of th redline range...your car will be fine as it was made to operate safely and reliably at any RPM up to about 6k -------------------- Speeding is only Illegal...
