 car problems, blown headgasket |

yep so i found out the head gasket is blown and should be replaced as well as the serpentine belt. I am so mechanically stupid that it hurts to think i cant replace the head gasket myself but i need this car to last untill i get out of college so for another 3 years. oh if anyone one wants to know the mileage its 170k now Woot. The people who looked at the car estimated around $450 for the replacing of it. Just wanted to know if this is reasonable price cause i read earlier post about crazy insane prices and then people who replace the headgasket themselves which I would love to do but know nothing about doing it.

[right][snapback]290525[/snapback][/right] Very few people in this world who aren't mechanics will ever replace a head gasket so don't feel bad. Celicas don't have serpentine belts. That is one belt to drive all the accessories. Celicas have a different belt for the A/C, alternator, and water pump. You should get them all replaced at the same time. It's not very expensive. Maybe $100 bucks. |
