Couple of videos in there of a 3rd gen 3s being tested with the megasquirt and spark with the Ford EDIS Iginition setup which is probably what I'll end up running on mine when ever I find some time and money to get started.

Well we're not talking about EDIS in it's stock form so the piggy back isn't an issue. I don't know why you think EDIS is tricky to wire up. It's a simple issue of two wires from the EDIS to the MSnS and then power to the coils/EDIS module. I definately think it's better than any distributor system simply for the fact that there is no cap or rotor to wear out. It seems so much simpler to me and the adjustability will all be controlled by the MSnS.

Nice looking Silvertop. How are you going to balance that pulley once you atach the 36-1 "gear" to it? That's the biggest obstacle I'll have to overcome.

EDIS and The dizzy aren't very different at all to wire up. EDIS just needs some extra attention, but I'm just saying you know... there isn't a point overall to switch to EDIS, when toyota DLI or COPs or something else could have been done. In the end, all systems provide spark.

As for my silvertop, I had because of the differences in size between the crank pulley and the trigger wheel, I had a machine shop line everything up and weld it together. I'm not too afraid of minor balance issues when it comes to the crank pulley on Toyotas. There's a whole ot of stuff affecting the crank and if a pulley mod was enough to throw the crank out of balance, so would a flywheel, belt tension, engine load, etc. The engines are plenty tough. ;] That's a VERY old picture BTW... i'll take some later.
