what is this unit in my dash?
 the metal thing. here is a close up  and can i mount my alarm brain on top of it? -------------------- |

there is no reason to waste money and take out that stock amp. I left mine in and got the special harness for it. It sounds GREAT. The harness let's me use my 6.5V preouts to that stock amp and it's amazing. Don't waste your money on an aftermarket when the one you got ain't broke, and works just as well.
