guys, i have some pics here of the turbo install. we did hit a snag in that we couldn't get everything on in time to go get the downpipe made before the exhaust shops closed on saturday... no biggie, we did all the tapping and the difficult parts. back to stock for now, but it's just a matter of me getting a few free days to finish it up. enjoy the pics.

if you have any questions, post em or IM me.

Turbo looks beautiful

What size is that?

Are you using forge pistons?

If so, how much boost will you be running?

what size down pipe are you running and is that a high flow cat (looks oem)?

Is that an upgraded fuel rail? What size injectors are you using?

Did you replace the throttle body or did you get it rebore to flow more cfm?

Nice intercooler and custom turbo manifold. From pass review on such setups, you may experience your maniflod cracking at the joints or along the tubes themselves.

All of them should have be setup to flow in on direction under expansion. eg, in the curve converging to the turbo.
The way the manifold is setup does not allow for expansion. Expansion is in all directions >> stress on all joins.
Just my 2 cents worth of advice (who needs it frown.gif )

Any upgrades to the ignition system beside the plug wires?

Again nice work and we look forward to your first test.

Oh, before I go, are all compression chambers running at the same compression levels?

1) garrett t3/t40b

2) no, not yet

3) 8 psi is my planned boost

4) i'm going to run a 2.5 inch downpipe, because that's what my exhaust is

5) nope, that's an OEM cat, gonna get a high flow one before i finish the exhaust

6) no, fuel rail is stock. the injectors are around 340 cc, they are venom stage I turbo probe injectors

7) no i didn't bore the TB, it's stock, the throttle opening is bigger than my IC piping, so I didn't see the point.

8) lance made my manifold, it won't crack, he is a professional and custom makes manifolds and other performance parts as his job. www.jgstools.com/turbo is his site. i'm not really sure what the point is that you are making. it's not the traditional log style manifold, it's an equal length 4-1 manifold, which allows for better flow... if you look at all the high end manifolds, like HKS and GReddy, you will see that they are the same. the construction of the manifold is very solid, it must weigh 20 pounds. i have complete confidence in his design and work.

9) no, no ignition, i may at some point tho.

10) i didn't have them compression tested, but i imagine they are, as the car runs beautifully and only has 71K on it. i've never had any problems.
