im planning on buying 17x8s 35 offset rims with 225-45 tires. i know tte has this setup and it fits on his car, but im wondering if it would fit on a car that has sportline 1.5in springs? anyone got a similar setup ?

1010tires.com has not only an explanation and diagrams of offset, it actually has an offset calculator so you can determine if your wheel is going to rub.

Check how much clearance you have between your stock wheel/tire combo and the wheel well. That's how much room you have to play with (accounting for suspension travel first, of course). Then run compare the stock figures with the new wheel and tire combo on the 1010tires.com calculator. It'll show you how much of a difference there is. BTW, remember that altering your overall diametre will alter your speedo accuracy (calculator will tell you how much).
