You have to get the context. He was saying that he didn't want to put work into his Honda because everyone has one, but he wanted to be different and work on a Celica. That's why they said that.
I typed this all by hand so there are probably some mistakes, but I'm not going to spend a lot of time on it so... Dear Turbo, Where are teh 1994-1999 Celica mods and build ups? After going to Eces in Jacksonville and HIN in Orlando I have come to the realization that I do not need to work up my four-door 1990 Integra LS or my four-door 1994 Honda Accord EX. These cars are too heavy and pretty played out, but I think I only saw one 1994-1999 Celica at HIN and I don't see that many of them around, so this is the car I have my sights set on. I was wondering if you could tell me what the Japanese version of the Celica is, and if an engine swap would give me better numbers like the 240SX SR20DET swap. Just hoping to get some info on this car. I like the fact that not many people build these, but then again I run into the problem of lack of info. James Brooks Jacksonville, FL JAMES, one of the main reasons why there are so few fixed up 1994-'99 Celicas out there is the lack of performance products for the vehicle. There have been a few enthusiasts who have successfully swapped in the 3SGTE engine from a MR-2 Turbo or Celica All-trac Turbo. The factory 3SGTE engine produces roughly 200 hp at the flywheel, which is about the same output as a stock SR20DET engine. Also there are plenty of performance products that are available for the 3SGTE engine so bumping up the output should be a snap. Good luck on your individuality.
